How to Perform

Stand facing a wall and put your hands on it

Put one foot close to the wall and step the other foot far back and keep your back leg straight and your back heel flat on the floor.

Step 3 for Wall facing calf stretch- Gastrocnemius exercise3⏱ Hold 10s

Lean your hips toward the wall until you feel a stretch in your back calf and stay there for 10 seconds, then swap legs.

Precautions

  • Hold still, moving up and down can hurt the muscle can cause micro-tears in the muscle.
  • If your back heel lifts off the ground, you aren't getting the full stretch.Step your back foot a little closeri to the wall if you need to.
  • Ensure your toes are pointing straight toward the wall, not turned outward.
  • You should feel a "tight pull," but never sharp or stabbing pain. If it hurts, back off immediately.
